Privacy policy

Updated 18 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Cenas collects and uses personal data on its website, mobile applications and related services. The contact for privacy enquiries is [email protected].

Personal data collected

We may process identification and contact details such as name and phone number; account preferences; saved or created content including links, text, images, audio and transcripts; assistant requests; and service usage information such as interactions, reminders and friend connections. We also collect technical data needed for operation and security, such as IP addresses, access logs and errors.

Purposes and legal bases

We use data to manage accounts, authenticate access, save and organise content, respond to requests, enable sharing and send configured communications and reminders. Processing is based on providing the service, consent where applicable, legal obligations and our legitimate interest in maintaining security and preventing misuse.

Artificial intelligence features

Summaries, organisation and assistant features use external AI services, including Anthropic, which receive the request and content needed to respond. Server transcription may send audio to OpenAI. For web research, the public question is presented for confirmation; your private library and conversation history are not sent with that search. Automated results may contain errors and should be checked where necessary.

Device permissions

Access to the camera, microphone, photos or a contact depends on the selected feature and permissions granted. Contact selection uses only the selected number without importing the full address book. Local transcription available on iPhone takes place on the device; files the user chooses to save may be uploaded to the service. Permissions can be changed in device settings.

Service providers and international transfers

We may share necessary data with providers supporting hosting and storage, security, usage analytics, authentication, communications, link reading and artificial intelligence features. Saved links may be accessed through reading services and original websites. Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. These operations are subject to applicable data protection and international transfer rules. Information about recipients and transfer conditions can be requested at [email protected].

Content sharing

The library is private by default. Users may choose to share content with friends or through a public link. Recipients can access and forward that link. Copies saved by other users may remain in their accounts after the original share is removed.

Cookies and local storage

We use session cookies and local storage for authentication, preferences and drafts. Drafts may contain content not yet uploaded and are cleared on sign-out or account deletion. Usage analytics does not use advertising cookies. We do not display behavioural advertising.

Data retention

Data is retained as necessary for service purposes, user choices and legal obligations. Content can be deleted and account deletion can be requested in the profile. Expiry of temporary content does not automatically delete it. Account deletion revokes sessions and starts removal of associated data and files. Security logs and backups may persist for their applicable retention periods. Content copied by other users may remain in their accounts.

Your rights

Users can exercise rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and withdraw consent where applicable, by contacting [email protected]. Profile correction, data export and account deletion are also available in the app. We may request identity verification to protect the account. Users can complain to the competent supervisory authority, including CNPD in Portugal.

Security and policy changes

We apply technical and organisational measures to protect data against unauthorised access, use or disclosure. No system removes every risk. This policy may be updated; the current version is published on this page with its date. Material changes will be communicated through the service.
